Thị trưởng Washington sơn ḍng chữ lớn màu vàng "Mạng người da màu quan trọng" trên đường dẫn tới Nhà Trắng để tưởng nhớ nạn nhân của bạo lực cảnh sát.

"Vào ngày sinh nhật của cô, Breonna Taylor, hăy để chúng tôi biểu thị quyết tâm. Quyết tâm khiến nước Mỹ trở thành vùng đất như nó đáng phải", Thị trưởng thủ đô Washington của Mỹ Muriel Bowser đăng Twitter hôm 5/6 sau khi sơn khẩu hiệu biểu t́nh lên con đường dẫn tới Nhà Trắng, đề cập đến người phụ nữ da màu 26 tuổi đă bị cảnh sát ở Louisville, bang Kentucky bắn chết hồi tháng 3.

Thông điệp thách thức của Thị trưởng Washington, một người đảng Dân chủ, xuất hiện trong bối cảnh căng thẳng cả nước vẫn tăng cao sau cái chết của người đàn ông da màu George Floyd ở thành phố Minneapolis, bang Minnesota gần hai tuần trước, khiến lănh đạo chính trị ở đó cùng nhiều nơi khác áp đặt những hạn chế mới đối với lực lượng thực thi pháp luật.

Bowser và Tổng thống đảng Cộng ḥa Donald Trump đang tranh căi về việc Tổng thống sử dụng các cơ quan thực thi pháp luật liên bang và quân cảnh để ứng phó các cuộc biểu t́nh. Cảnh sát đầu tuần này đă bắn hơi cay và lựu đạn khói để giải tán người biểu t́nh bên ngoài Nhà Trắng trước khi Trump đi bộ đến nhà thờ gần đó.

"Chúng tôi muốn quân đội rời khỏi thủ đô Washington", Bowser, người đang kêu gọi Đặc khu Columbia được cấp cương vị bang, nói với các phóng viên hôm 4/6. Bowser cũng cho lắp biển báo giao thông có ḍng chữ "Mạng người da màu quan trọng" tại ngă tư đường H và 16.

"Thị trưởng bất tài Bowser, người không kiểm soát được ngân sách và thường xuyên hướng về chúng tôi để xin 'bố thí', đang đấu với Vệ binh Quốc gia, người đă cứu cô ta khỏi xấu hổ", Trump đăng Twitter đáp trả thị trưởng Washington. "Nếu cô ta không đối xử tốt với những vệ binh này, chúng tôi sẽ cử đến một nhóm khác".

Như nhiều thành phố khác của Mỹ, thủ đô Washington trải qua nhiều ngày biểu t́nh và bạo loạn sau cái chết của Floyd. Các cửa hàng cùng văn pḥng tại Washington cùng những vùng lân cận bị cướp phá, buộc thị trưởng áp lệnh giới nghiêm sau 19h trong ngày 1-2/6.

Hàng trăm binh sĩ tiểu đoàn trực chiến thuộc sư đoàn dù 82 trước đó được điều tới Washington để hỗ trợ đảm bảo an ninh, song đă nhận được lệnh quay về căn cứ ở Bắc Carolina. Tuy nhiên, ngoài lực lượng Vệ binh Quốc gia và cảnh sát, thủ đô Washington đang có thêm khoảng 3.300 vệ binh quốc gia được huy động từ nhiều bang khác để bảo vệ các công tŕnh trọng yếu.

T́nh h́nh an ninh tại thủ đô Washington phức tạp do chính quyền thủ đô không có quyền tự chủ hoàn toàn như các bang khác, nơi thống đốc là người duy nhất chịu trách nhiệm về an ninh. Thủ đô không có đại diện trong quốc hội và chính phủ liên bang có thể ra các quyết định vượt quyền giới chức thủ đô.

Lực lượng Vệ binh Quốc gia thủ đô Washington được huy động để ứng phó biểu t́nh, nhưng họ báo cáo trực tiếp lên Tổng thống, không thông qua chính quyền của Thị trưởng Bowser.

Cộng đồng người Mỹ da đen đă đăng thư ngỏ (phải trả tiền) trên tờ New York Times tháng 3/1978 kêu gọi chính phủ Hoa Kỳ nhận người tỵ nạn Đông Dương.
Giới lănh đạo người Mỹ da đen đă kư và trả tiền cho trang quảng cáo này trên tờ NY Times khi c̣n rất nhiều người Việt Nam chạy trốn cộng sản ở trong những trại tị nạn.

Làn da nào mà không có màu hở mụ ???....Da trắng (màu trắng)...Da vàng (màu vàng)...Da đỏ (màu đỏ)....Da đen (màu đen)....hà cớ ǵ phải tô vẻ "màu" chi cho dzô diên dzị mụ...Khi nói về màu da th́ đă tự chính mụ " kỳ thị " màu da sắc tộc rồi ...Nói ngắn gọn ...mạng người quan trọng là đă đủ chẳng cần thêm thắt...màu mè
