Hôm 18/11, Triều Tiên tuyên bố họ không quan tâm đến các cuộc đàm phán vô nghĩa với Hoa Kỳ nữa để Tổng thống Donald Trump không còn gì để tự đắc. Đồng thời, Bình Nhưỡng nói rằng nếu Washington muốn đối thoại thì phải chấm dứt điều mà Triều Tiên cho là chính sách thù địch, theo Reuters.

Ông Kim Kye Gwan, quan chức cấp cao Triều Tiên, người từng là thứ trưởng ngoại giao, đưa ra bình luận trên sau khi ông Trump vào cuối tuần kêu gọi nhà lãnh tụ Triều Tiên Kim Jong Un “hành động nhanh chóng” và gợi ý một cuộc gặp thượng đỉnh nữa.

Trong một tuyên bố của hãng thông tấn Triều Tiên KCNA, ông Kim Kye Gwan cho biết ông đã đọc dòng Twitter ngày 17/11 của ông Trump, trong đó báo hiệu sẽ có một hội nghị thượng đỉnh khác nhưng nói thêm rằng đã có rất ít cải thiện mặc dù đã có ba cuộc gặp giữa hai nhà lãnh đạo kể từ tháng 6 năm ngoái.

“Chúng tôi không còn hứng thú với những cuộc đối thoại như vậy vì chúng không mang lại điều gì cho chúng tôi,” ông Kim nói.

“Vì đổi lại chúng tôi chẳng được gì, chúng tôi sẽ không ban tặng cho tổng thống Hoa Kỳ những thứ để ông tự đắc,” ông Kim nói.

Trong diễn biến liên quan hôm 18/11, Truyền thông Triều Tiên đưa tin, nhà lãnh đạo Kim Jong Un đã giám sát các cuộc tập trận của không quân ngay cả khi Mỹ và Hàn Quốc đã quyết định hoãn cuộc tập trận chung của họ, theo Reuters.

Trước đó, hôm 17/11, Hoa Kỳ và Hàn Quốc cho biết họ sẽ hoãn các cuộc tập trận quân sự sắp tới, được gọi là Sự kiện Huấn luyện Bay kết hợp, trong nỗ lực thúc đẩy hòa bình với Triều Tiên.
