Hạ Viện Mỹ được quyền đ̣i công ty kế toán của Tổng Thống Donald Trump phải cung cấp hồ sơ thuế của ông Donald Trump trong nhiều năm qua, sau khi một ṭa kháng án liên bang đă có quyết định giữ nguyên một phán quyết của ṭa dưới.

Một luật sư của Tổng Thống Trump nói sẽ tiếp tục kiện lên tới Tối Cao Pháp Viện, theo bản tin của NBC News.

Với 8 phiếu thuận và 3 phiếu chống, Ṭa Kháng Án D.C. quyết định giữ nguyên phán quyết hồi tháng qua của một hội đồng xét xử gồm 3 thẩm phán ṭa kháng án này, cho phép được đ̣i hồ sơ thuế.

Phán quyết mới nhất có nghĩa là trừ khi Tổng Thống Trump kiện lên Tối Cao Pháp Viện và chiến thắng, Ủy Ban Thanh Tra và Cải Cách Hạ Viện có thể thi hành lệnh đ̣i công ty kế toán Mazars USA LLP cung cấp hồ sơ từ Tháng Giêng 2009 tới thời gian gần đây.

Lệnh đ̣i được đưa ra hồi Tháng Ba, sau khi ủy ban này nghe lời khai của cựu luật sư riêng của Tổng Thống Trump là ông Michael Cohen. Ông Cohen nói rằng Tổng Thống Trump thổi phồng trị giá tài sản của ông khi nộp đơn vay tiền ngân hàng.

Ṭa Kháng Án cũng cho thời hạn bảy ngày hoăn thi hành án để các luật sư của Tổng Thống Trump có thể kháng án.

Ông Jay Sekulow, một trong các luật sư của Tổng Thống Trump, nói vào tối Thứ Tư rằng: “trước việc có sự bất đồng trong phán quyết, dựa trên các lư luận vững chắc, chúng tôi sẽ yêu cầu Tối Cao Pháp Viện duyệt xét lại.”

Một trong ba thẩm phán không đồng ư với phán quyết hôm Thứ Tư, ông Gregory G. Katsas, nói rằng, phán quyết của ṭa sẽ tạo tiền lệ khiến tất cả các hồ sơ cá nhân của tổng thống dễ bị đ̣i cung cấp, đe dọa sự tự chủ và độc lập của tổng thống. (V.Giang)
