Tổng thống Mỹ lại gây tranh cãi khi đưa ra một kế hoạch được cho là "khó hiểu" khi muốn xây tường ở bang Colorado, dù bang này không giáp Mexico.

"Chúng tôi sẽ xây dựng một bức tường ở Colorado. Chúng tôi sẽ xây dựng một bức tường thật đẹp, một bức tường thực sự lớn mà bạn không thể vượt qua hay chui xuống", Trump nói tại sự kiện ở Pittsburgh, bang Pennsylvania hôm 23/10.

Việc xây tường nhằm ngăn người di cư ở khu vực biên giới Mỹ - Mexico đã trở thành ý tưởng gây nhiều tranh cãi trong nhiệm kỳ của Trump. Nhưng xây tường ở Colorado là sáng kiến "khó hiểu" khi bang này không giáp biên giới Mexico. Tổng thống Mỹ có thể nhầm lẫn khi phát biểu, bởi ngay trước khi đề cập tới việc xây tường ở Colorado, ông nhắc tới bang New Mexico, là bang láng giềng của Colorado và giáp Mexico.

"Bạn có biết tại sao chúng ta sẽ giành chiến thắng ở New Mexico không? Bởi vì họ muốn sự an toàn ở biên giới của họ", Trump nói trong bài phát biểu ở Pittsburgh.

Trump cũng cho hay bức tường biên giới nhằm ngăn người di cư ở bang Texas, giáp Mexico đang được hoàn thiện và người dân được hưởng lợi ích của việc này. Colorado là bang ở phía tây của miền Trung Mỹ, nổi tiếng với địa hình núi, giáp các bang Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska.
