WASHINGTON, DC (NV) – Lệnh giới nghiêm ở các thành phố khắp nước Mỹ và đe dọa sẽ huy động quân đội của Tổng Thống Donald Trump đã không làm giảm các cuộc xuống đường biểu tình hay tình trạng bạo động, với các vụ đụng độ giữa dân chúng và cảnh sát vẫn tiếp diễn hơn một tuần lễ sau cái chết của ông George Floyd ở Minneapolis.

Theo bản tin của NBC News, tại New York, cảnh sát bắt giữ hàng trăm người sau khi có các nhóm liên tục di chuyển từ khu phố này sang khu khác để đập phá cửa kính các tiệm và gây ra các đám cháy trên đường phố khu Bronx và Manhattan, trong khi tại St. Louis, có bốn cảnh sát viên bị trúng đạn.

Trước đó, cảnh sát với sự hỗ trợ của Vệ Binh Quốc Gia đã bắn lựu đạn cay vào đám đông đang biểu tình ôn hòa trước Tòa Bạch Ốc để dẹp đường cho Tổng Thống Donald Trump đi bộ sang một nhà thờ Tin Lành ở gần đó bị đốt gây hư hại và đứng chụp hình nơi đây.

Lệnh giới nghiêm tiếp tục được duy trì ở Washington, DC và vào đêm Thứ Hai, một số chủ nhà nơi này đã mở cửa cho một nhóm người đi biểu tình và bị cảnh sát vây bắt, được vào trú trong nhà qua đêm, để chờ đến sáng, hết giới nghiêm.

Một người biểu tình, tên Meka, cho hay qua Twitter rằng cảnh sát bao vây đám đông đang biểu tình ôn hòa rồi dùng dùi cui vụt túi bụi cùng xịt hơi cay vào họ tối ngày Thứ Hai. Một cư dân địa phương, Rahul Dubey, mở cửa cho người biểu tình chạy vào trong nhà của ông, trong khi cảnh sát tiếp tục bắt giữ những người khác bên ngoài. Hình ảnh do Meka đưa lên mạng xã hội, cũng cho thấy một người láng giềng của ông Dubey mở cửa cho người biểu tình vào ẩn náu.

“Tôi hy vọng họ sẽ tiếp tục tranh đấu. Và tôi hy vọng hôm nay họ sẽ đi biểu tình ôn hòa như họ đã làm ngày hôm qua. Đất nước chúng ta cần những người này và cần quý vị cũng như các người khác hơn bao giờ hết,” ông Dubey nói.

Tại thành phố Richmond, tiểu bang Virginia, một số cảnh sát viên bị gọi về sở cảnh sát và sẽ bị kỷ luật sau khi bắn hàng loạt hơi cay vào người biểu tình khoảng 15 phút trước giờ giới nghiêm.

Cảnh sát trưởng thành phố Richmond, ông William Smith, ngỏ lời xin lỗi và nói rằng các cảnh sát viên liên hệ sẽ bị kỷ luật vì có hành động ra ngoài quy định cũng như các chỉ thị đưa ra.

Tại Las Vegas, Nevada, sở cảnh sát thành phố vào sáng ngày Thứ Ba xác nhận là đang điều tra hai vụ nổ súng xảy ra vào tối ngày Thứ Hai. Vụ đầu tiên là cảnh sát bắn một người mặc áo giáp chống đạn và mang võ khí, tiến gần đến các cảnh sát viên đang bảo vệ tòa án Lloyd D. George U.S. Courthouse ở Las Vegas Strip.

Cảnh sát trưởng Joseph Lombardo cũng nói có một cảnh sát viên bị thương nặng trong một vụ nổ súng khác khi tìm cách giải tán một đám đông trước cửa khách sạn Circus Circus. Ông Lombardo nói cảnh sát bắt được một nghi can và đang có cuộc điều tra.
Tại New York, có khoảng 700 người bị bắt về tội phá hoại tài sản và hôi của, trong khi có một trung sĩ cảnh sát bị thương vì xe đụng ở trong khu Bronx.

Khu Midtown và Union Square ở Manhattan và đường Fordham Road ở khu Bronx là những nơi bị thiệt hại nặng nhất.

Cảnh sát nói rằng người trung sĩ cảnh sát bị xe tông phải ở Bronx trong tình trạng thương tích trầm trọng nhưng sẽ sống sót.

11/27/2007: Bị bắt và nhận tội đã xông vào nhà dí súng vào bụng một người phụ nữ để tìm thuốc phiện và tiền. Ở tù 5 năm, sau đó bỏ Texas để đến Minnesota.
05/25/2020: Bị bắt vì bị tố cáo dùng tiền giả.
