Reuters - Bộ trưởng Tư pháp Hoa Kỳ, ông William Barr tuyên bố Mỹ buộc ông Nicolas Maduro, Tổng thống Venezuea tội buôn lậu ma túy, đồng thời treo giải thưởng trị giá 15 triệu USD cho ai đưa tin để bắt giữ ông Maduro.


Bốn viên chức khác của Venezuela cũng bị cáo buộc những tội danh như buôn ma túy và rửa tiền, trong đó có cả người đứng đầu ngành tư pháp của nước này.

Chưa thấy Venezuela lên tiếng về chuyện này.

Hiện nay Mỹ và hơn 60 quốc gia khác không công nhận chính phủ của ông Maduro, mà ủng hộ ông Juan Guaido làm Tổng thống Venezuela.

Đây là diễn biến mới nhất trong sự gia tăng căng thẳng giữa Mỹ và Venezuela. Venezuela là một quốc gia có trữ lượng dầu mỏ hàng đầu thế giới, nhưng đang chìm vào khủng hoảng kinh tế với mức độ sụt giảm đến 35%, do quản lý kém cỏi. Tình trạng tệ hại này được sự trù sẽ gia tăng trong lúc dịch bệnh đang làm suy thoái kinh tế thế giới, trong đó giá dầu sụt giảm rất nhiều.
