Các luật sư của cựu Tổng thống Donald Trump cho biết, các cựu nhân viên tại CIA và các cơ quan tình báo khác của Hoa Kỳ nên bị trừng phạt vì đã tuyên bố rằng các câu chuyện về các bức thư điện tử trên chiếc máy điện toán của con trai Joe Biden là một phần trong kế hoạch của Nga.

The Epoch Times đã xem xét các bức thư gửi cho các quan chức hàng đầu tại CIA, Văn phòng Giám đốc Tình báo Quốc gia (ODNI), Cơ quan An ninh Quốc gia (NSA), và Bộ Quốc phòng (DoD) để thúc giục họ có hành động chống lại các cựu nhân viên này. Các luật sư của ông Trump khẳng định các nhân viên này “đã thay đổi kết quả của cuộc bầu cử thông qua hành vi sai trái rõ ràng và có chủ đích.”

Ông Jim Clapper, cựu giám đốc tình báo quốc gia; ông Mike Hayden, cựu giám đốc CIA; và ông Nick Rasmussen, cựu giám đốc Trung tâm Chống Khủng bố Quốc gia, là một trong số những người đã ký vào bức thư ngày 19/10/2020 về chiếc máy điện toán xách tay của ông Hunter Biden.

Bức thư nói trên đã được gửi đến Politico, và tờ báo này đã mô tả như thể hàng chục cựu quan chức tình báo gọi các câu chuyện về các bức thư điện tử trên chiếc máy điện toán đó là “thông tin sai lệch của Nga”, mặc dù bản thân bức thư sử dụng ngôn ngữ hơi khác, nói rằng việc công bố các thư điện tử này “có tất cả những dấu hiệu điển hình của một chiến dịch tình báo của Nga.”

Trong các bức thư mới, ông Timothy Parlatore, một luật sư đại diện cho ông Trump, nói với các cơ quan này rằng, bởi lập trường mà những người ký bức thư ôm giữ, họ phải tìm kiếm việc đánh giá lại từ các cơ quan mà họ làm việc trước khi công bố.
