NEW YORK (Reuters) – Một tòa phúc thẩm liên bang hôm thứ Tư đã bác bỏ nỗ lực của Donald Trump nhằm ngăn công tố viên quận Manhattan lấy được bản khai thuế trong 8 năm của ông vì một cuộc điều tra nhằm vào tổng thống Mỹ và các doanh nghiệp của ông.


Tòa phúc thẩm khu vực 2 của Hoa Kỳ ở Manhattan cho biết việc thi hành trát đòi hầu tòa có thể được giữ nguyên, theo thỏa thuận của các bên, nếu Trump kháng cáo lên Tòa án Tối cao Hoa Kỳ.

Trump đã báo hiệu rằng ông sẽ kháng cáo lên Tòa án Tối cao nếu ông thua. Trump đang trên cuộc đua để tái đắc cử vào ngày 3 tháng 11.

Vance đã đưa ra trát đòi hầu tòa cho công ty kế toán lâu năm của Trump, Mazars USA.

Tổng thống đã lập luận rằng trát đòi hầu tòa đối với bản khai thuế cá nhân và doanh nghiệp của ông là một nổ lực “tìm hiểu thông tin ngoài phạm vi hợp lý của vụ kiện” và có động cơ chính trị nhắm vào lợi ích kinh doanh của ông trên khắp thế giới, vượt quá thẩm quyền và quyền phán quyết của Vance.

Quyết định của Tòa phúc thẩm Hoa Kỳ theo sau một báo cáo ngày 28 tháng 9 trên The New York Times rằng Trump đã trả 750 đô la thuế thu nhập liên bang trong cả năm 2016 và 2017, và không đóng thuế thu nhập 10 trong số 15 năm trước
