USA TODAY EDITORIAL BOARD:
Elect Joe Biden. Reject Donald Trump.


Tờ USA Today hôm Thứ Ba 20 Tháng Mười đã "gia nhập" danh sách các hãng truyền thông lớn, uy tín trong việc ủng hộ và kêu gọi độc giả chọn cựu Phó Tổng Thống Joe Biden (đảng Dân Chủ).

Đây được xem là lần lần đầu tiên trong lịch sử 38 năm kể từ ngày USA Today thành lập (1982), một trong những tờ báo uy tín hàng đầu nước Mỹ công khai bày tỏ quan điểm chính trị. Năm 2016, USA Today đã kêu gọi độc giả không bỏ phiếu cho ứng viên Donald Trump, nhưng cũng không thể hiện sự ủng hộ của tờ báo dành cho bà Hillary Clinton (đối thủ của ông Trump lúc đó.

Bốn năm sau, ban biên tập USA Today kêu gọi bạn đọc bỏ phiếu cho ông Biden, nói rằng quốc gia này "đang bị bủa vây bởi bệnh tật, kiệt quệ về kinh tế, phân biệt chủng tộc và thảm họa thiên tai do biến đổi khí hậu."
Scientific American, Lancet Oncology, New England Journal of Medicine, Nature và bây giờ có thêm USA Today, là những tờ báo, tạp chí lớn, uy tín lên tiếng ủng hộ ông Joe Biden.
