Tổng thống Trump cho biết các bác sĩ đă nói với ông rằng t́nh trạng của ông có thể sẽ diễn biến rất tệ v́ COVID-19 và cho rằng một loại thuốc kháng thể thử nghiệm đă giúp ông hồi phục.

Trong chương tŕnh radio với Rush Limbaugh vào thứ sáu (ngày 9 tháng 10), Tổng thống Trump nói rằng trong ngày đầu nhiễm bệnh, t́nh trạng của ông “rất tệ” và có thể ông đă “không thể hồi phục.” Nhưng một ngày sau đó, Tổng thống nói rằng ông rất khỏe. Các chuyên gia y tế nói rằng không có cách nào để Tổng thống hoặc các bác sĩ của ông biết liệu thuốc có hiệu quả hay không.

Tổng thống Trump cho biết thêm rằng ông đang cố gắng để các viên chức y tế liên bang nhanh chóng phê duyệt giấy phép sử dụng khẩn cấp từ Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, công ty cung cấp thuốc kháng thể mà ông đă sử dụng. Ông tuyên bố loại thuốc này “diệt trừ hoàn toàn coronavirus.

Các chuyên gia y tế cho biết đây không phải là phương pháp chữa bệnh, nhưng các loại thuốc kháng thể thử nghiệm như loại thuốc nói trên là một trong những liệu pháp hứa hẹn nhất. Chúng nhằm mục đích giúp hệ thống miễn dịch chống lại coronavirus. Tuy nhiên, chúng vẫn đang trong giai đoạn thử nghiệm và độ an toàn và hiệu quả của các loại thuốc này vẫn chưa được biết đến. (BBT)
