Vừa qua, cựu Ngoại trưởng Mỹ Hillary Clinton đă đăng một ḍng tweet "mỉa mai" đương kim Tổng thống Donald Trump khi đă hứa là 'Nước Mỹ trước tiên' mà để nướcMỹ đứng đầu bảng COVID-19 trên thế giới. Đây không phải lần đầu tiên bà Clinton có lời chê trách ông Trump về vấn đề ứng phó với dịch COVID-19.

The Hill đưa tin, sau khi nước Mỹ chính thức vượt Trung Quốc, trở thành quốc gia đứng đầu thế giới về số ca mắc bệnh viêm phổi cấp do virus corona chủng mới (COVID-19) vào hôm thứ 6 (27/3) vừa qua, cựu Ngoại trưởng Mỹ Hillary Clinton đă đăng một ḍng tweet "mỉa mai" đương kim Tổng thống Donald Trump.

"Ông ấy đă hứa là 'Nước Mỹ trước tiên' mà", cựu đối thủ của ông Trump đăng lên Twitter kèm theo một bài đăng của New York Times, xác nhận Mỹ là quốc gia có số người nhiễm COVID-19 nhiều nhất thế giới.

Đáng chú ư, "Nước Mỹ trước tiên" cũng chính là khẩu hiệu đă giúp ông Trump và đội ngũ chiến dịch giành được chiến thắng chung cuộc trong cuộc bầu cử Tổng thống Mỹ năm 2016.
Đây không phải lần đầu tiên bà Clinton có lời chê trách ông Trump về vấn đề ứng phó với dịch COVID-19. Trước đó, cựu Ngoại trưởng Mỹ từng b́nh luận về một số phát ngôn không nhất quán của ông Trump, và đặt câu hỏi rằng "Cần phải làm ǵ để ông Trump nghe lời các chuyên gia, thay v́ nghe theo linh cảm của ông ấy vậy?"
Trong một cuộc họp với các nhà lănh đạo người Mỹ gốc Phi tại Nhà Trắng hồi tháng 2 vừa qua, ông Trump từng phát biểu: "Mọi người biết không? Nếu chúng ta làm điều tồi tệ, th́ chúng ta cũng nên bị chỉ trích. Nhưng chúng ta đă thực hiện được một điều rất đáng kinh ngạc. Chúng ta sẽ tiếp tục làm điều đó. [Dịch bệnh] sẽ biến mất thôi. Một ngày nào đó - giống như một phép màu - nó sẽ biến mất".

Hôm thứ 5 (26/3) vừa qua, trong một cuộc phỏng vấn với đài Fox News, khi phóng viên đặt câu hỏi rằng liệu New York có thực sự cần đến hàng chục ngàn máy thở như các quan chức tiểu bang này tuyên bố hay không, ông Trump đă phủ nhận điều đó.

"Tôi không tin rằng họ cần 30-40.000 máy thở. Bạn biết đấy, khi bạn đến bệnh viện lớn, đôi khi họ chỉ có 2 chiếc máy thở. Và bây giờ họ đột nhiên lại đưa ra yêu cầu mua đến 30.000 máy thở?" - ông Trump nói.

Đầu tuần này, bà Clinton cũng từng mỉa mai ông Trump trên Twitter: "Làm ơn đừng nghe theo lời khuyên y tế từ một người đàn ông nh́n thẳng vào mặt trời khi Nhật thực" - điều này thực sự đă diễn ra vào tháng 8/2017.

Tính đến thời điểm hiện tại, nước Mỹ đă xác nhận tổng cộng 105.778 ca nhiễm và 1.731 ca tử vong do COVID-19.
