Bộ ngoại giao Trung Quốc đă đưa ra thông tin trái ngược với tuyên bố của tổng thống Mỹ Donald Trump, khi cho biết họ "chưa nghe" về việc quan chức nước này đề xuất nối lại đàm phán với Mỹ như lời Tổng thống Mỹ nói.

Ông Trump ngày 26/8 nói rằng đại diện Trung Quốc đă gọi "những nhân vật cấp cao của chúng tôi" - chỉ đại diện thương mại Mỹ Robert Lighthizer và bộ trưởng tài chính Steven Mnuchin - vào tối Chủ nhật (25/8) để "đưa trở lại" vấn đề đàm phán nhằm giải quyết chiến tranh thương mại song phương.

Đôi bên dự kiến có cuộc trao đổi vào hôm nay, 27/8. Theo Bộ thương mại Trung Quốc, các cuộc điện đàm cấp cao giữa nhóm đàm phán Mỹ-Trung lần gần đây nhất diễn ra vào ngày 13/8, giữa phó thủ tướng Trung Quốc Lưu Hạc với các ông Lighthizer, Mnuchin.

Dường như không có dấu hiệu khởi sắc nào cho cuộc đàm phán được ghi nhận từ phía Trung Quốc. Phát ngôn viên Bộ ngoại giao nước này, ông Cảnh Sảng ngày 26 tuyên bố: "Về việc phía Mỹ đề cập các cuộc điện đàm cuối tuần, tôi không hề nghe nói tới."

Ông Hồ Tích Tiến, tổng biên tập tờ Thời báo Hoàn Cầu, viết trên Twitter rằng Mỹ-Trung vẫn duy tŕ liên hệ ở "mức độ kỹ thuật" và "không có đột phá đáng kể như tổng thống Trump ngụ ư".

Một xă luận xuất bản trên báo đảng Trung Quốc Nhân dân Nhật báo ngày 27 cảnh báo Mỹ không nên đánh giá thấp quyết tâm chống trả của Trung Quốc.

"Trung Quốc sẽ làm như những ǵ đă nói," bài báo viết, đề cập những giải pháp trả đũa thuế quan của Bắc Kinh. "Bất kỳ ư đồ nào nhằm buộc Trung Quốc nhượng bộ bằng sức ép lớn sẽ là vô ích."

Câu hỏi đặt ra về t́nh trạng đàm phán thương mại lúc này là liệu đối thoại có được khôi phục ở mức độ cao, và liệu Trung Quốc có sốt sắng đạt thỏa thuận hay ông Trump có nóng ḷng xoa dịu thị trường. Hy vọng tiếp tục trở nên mong manh sau khi Mỹ-Trung đưa ra những đe dọa áp thuế mới hồi tuần trước.

Những tín hiệu gây nhiễu t́nh trạng quan hệ hai nước tiếp tục xuất hiện khi ông Trump so sánh chủ tịch Trung Quốc Tập Cận B́nh như một "địch thủ" hồi tuần trước, nhưng đến đầu tuần này lại đề cao ông Tập là một lănh đạo tuyệt vời. Trump lư giải "Đó là cách mà tôi thương thuyết".

Tuần trước, Trung Quốc nói sẽ nâng thuế quan từ 5% lên 10% đối với 75 tỉ USD giá trị hàng hóa Mỹ nhập khẩu. Chính quyền Trump đáp trả bằng tuyên bố nâng thuế từ 25% lên 30% với 250 tỉ USD hàng Trung Quốc, và từ 10% lên 15% đối với 300 tỉ USD hàng hóa khác của Trung Quốc.
