Người đàn ông ngoài 20 tuổi đã nhảy từ tầng 9 của một tòa nhà và rơi trúng Kahle khi cô đang đi dạo cùng một người bạn. Kahle tử vong ngay tại hiện trường, trong khi người đàn ông nhảy lầu được đưa tới bệnh viện cấp cứu, song cũng ra qua đời sau đó. Người bạn đi cùng Kahle may mắn không bị thương.Kahle, tốt nghiệp đại học bang San Diego, đang chuẩn bị bước sang tuổi 30 và đang làm việc cho McFarlane Promotions. Laurel McFarlane, cấp trên của Kahle, cho biết vô cùng đau buồn trước sự ra đi của cô. McFarlane mô tả người phụ nữ 29 tuổi này là một người tốt và từng hiến tạng cứu người.
