Tờ New York Post ngày 15.6 đưa tin một nhân viên thu ngân tại siêu thị Big Bear tại hạt DeKalb (bang Georgia, Mỹ) bị bắn chết chỉ vì nhắc một khách hàng đeo khẩu trang phòng dịch Covid-19.
Sự việc xảy ra vào chiều 14.6 (giờ địa phương) khi nữ nhân viên trên đề nghị khách hàng Victor Tucker Jr. (30 tuổi) đeo khẩu trang. Tuy nhiên, Tucker từ chối và bắt đầu cãi cọ trước khi rời đi mà không mua hàng.
Sau đó, Tucker bất ngờ quay lại và bắn vào đầu nữ nhân viên trên. Cơ quan điều tra Georgia (GBI) chưa tiết lộ danh tính nạn nhân nhưng cho hay nữ nhân viên này được kết luận đã tử vong tại Bệnh viện Grady Memorial.

Ngay sau khi hung thủ nổ súng, một cảnh sát dự bị thuộc văn phòng cảnh sát trưởng hạt DeKalb đang làm nhân viên bảo vệ tại siêu thị trên đã lao vào đấu súng với Tucker, khiến cả 2 đều trúng đạn.
Một nhân viên thu ngân khác bị xây xước do đạn bắn sượt qua, và được điều trị tại chỗ. Theo cảnh sát trưởng Melody Maddox tại hạt DeKalb, nhân viên bảo vệ trên mặc áo chống đạn khi xảy ra sự việc và sức khỏe hiện đã ổn định.
Tucker bị lực lượng chức năng bắt giữ khi tìm cách bò ra khỏi siêu thị qua cửa chính. Hắn được đưa đến Bệnh viện Grady Memorial để chữa trị và tình trạng sức khỏe đã ổn định. GBI hiện đang điều tra vụ việc.




The New York Post on June 15 reported that a cashier at a Big Bear supermarket in DeKalb County (Georgia, USA) was shot and killed just for reminding a customer to wear a mask to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic.
The incident happened on the afternoon of June 14 (local time) when the female employee suggested that customer Victor Tucker Jr. (30 years old) wearing a mask. However, Tucker refused and began arguing before leaving without making a purchase.
Then, Tucker suddenly turned around and shot the female employee in the head. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has not released the identity of the victim, but said the employee was pronounced dead at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Immediately after the gunman opened fire, a reserve officer from the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office who was working as a security guard at the supermarket got into a gunfight with Tucker, causing both to be shot.
Another cashier suffered a gunshot wound and was treated on the spot. According to DeKalb County Sheriff Melody Maddox, the security guard was wearing a bulletproof vest at the time of the incident and is in stable condition.
Tucker was arrested by the authorities when he tried to crawl out of the supermarket through the main door. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment and his condition is stable. GBI is currently investigating the incident.
