Gần 200 nhân viên y tế nhiễm nCoV sau tiêm vaccine, trong đó 40 người đã tiêm đủ hai liều, cho thấy mối đe dọa của Covid-19.

Tổng giám đốc Bộ Y tế Malaysia Noor Hisham Abdullah hôm 17/4 cho biết 426 nhân viên y tế nước này đã mắc Covid-19, trong đó 40 người nhiễm nCoV dù đã tiêm đủ hai mũi. 9 người trong số này mắc Covid-19 sau hơn hai tuần tiêm chủng, 31 người còn lại nhiễm virus trong chưa đầy hai tuần sau mũi tiêm thứ hai.

142 người cũng nhiễm nCoV sau khi tiêm mũi vaccine đầu tiên, trong khi 244 người mắc Covid-19 khi chưa được tiêm chủng. "Rõ ràng chúng ta vẫn có thể bị lây nhiễm sau khi hoàn thành tiêm vaccine. Không ai được an toàn cho tới khi tất cả an toàn", Bộ trưởng Noor Hisham nói, nhấn mạnh những người tiêm vaccine có triệu chứng nhẹ hơn.Tính đến ngày 16/4, đã có 438.220 người được tiêm đủ hai liều vaccine Covid-19 trong chương trình tiêm chủng của Malaysia. 687.176 người đã được tiêm mũi đầu tiên trong cùng thời gian, nâng tổng số liều vaccine Covid-19 được triển khai ở Malaysia lên 1.125.396.

"Vaccine mang lại tia hy vọng trong chiến đấu với Covid-19, đừng nghĩ rằng chúng ta có thể nới lỏng những biện pháp bảo vệ sức khỏe cộng đồng sau khi tiêm chủng", Bộ trưởng Noor Hisham cảnh báo.

Malaysia hiện ghi nhận gần 373.000 ca nhiễm nCoV, trong đó 1.370 người đã chết. Nước này đã báo cáo hơn 2.000 ca nhiễm mới mỗi ngày trong suốt 3 ngày qua, trong đó mức cao nhất là 2.551 hôm 16/4. Malaysia đang sử dụng vaccine Covid-19 của tập đoàn Mỹ Pfizer, AstraZeneca của Anh và Sinovac của Trung Quốc.

The country has reported more than 2,000 new infections a day for the past three days, of which the highest was 2,551 on April 16.
