Soros-Backed Group Acts As ‘Central Hub’ For Anti-Trump ‘No Kings’ Protests

As Democrats take to the street for another round of top-down, heavily-coordinated “No Kings” protests across the United States on Saturday, October 18, the main financiers and activist groups behind making the protests a reality are under the microscope.
The protests are coordinated by a coalition of over 200–265 partnering organizations, with a focus on progressive and civil rights groups. Central to the effort is left-wing activist group Indivisible, which is serving as a “central hub” for the nationwide protests.
Indivisible is a far-left “progressive” nonprofit that was founded in late 2016, almost immediately after President Donald Trump was elected president for the first time. The organization operates a decentralized network of thousands of local volunteer-led chapters across all 50 states, coordinated by the national Indivisible Project and Indivisible Civics, the latter of which is used for “education and training.”
The group started with the viral publication of the “Indivisible Guide,” a 23-page handbook titled Indivisible: A Practical Guide to Resisting the Trump Agenda,” written by former congressional staffers Ezra Levin and Leah Greenberg, both of whom now serve as co-directors. It provided blueprints for tactics like attending town halls, calling representatives, and organizing protests.
As of 2025, Indivisible boasts a mailing list of over 500,000 subscribers and has raised tens of millions in funding from progressive donors, labor unions, and foundations.
Notorious left-wing financier George Soros is a significant financial backer of Indivisible. In 2023, the Soros-led Open Societies Foundation, now managed by his son, Alex, issued a two-year grant of $3 million to the organization. The grant was “to support the grantee’s social welfare activities,” according to the Open Society Foundation’s website.
The website further notes that Soros has given away more than $32 billion of his personal fortune” to the foundation, which is then dispersed to a wide variety of networks, including Indivisible.
“We support a wide range of independent organizations that work to deepen civic engagement through peaceful democratic participation, a hallmark of any vibrant society and a right protected by the Constitution,” a spokesperson for the Open Society Foundations told Fox News. “Our grantees make their own decisions about their work, consistent with the law and the terms of their grant agreements.”
Indivisible has been credited with organizing some of the largest anti-Trump protests over the last decade, including the Women’s March in 2017 and the recent spate of “No Kings” protests. They have also been involved in a strategy to flood GOP town halls with angry “voters” in order to create the appearance of organic support, much like the protests.
In the wake of the murder of prominent conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated by a far-left extremist on September 10, the Trump Administration has been investigating groups behind the funding of violent protests, including those tied to the Soros network.
Last week, President Donald Trump hosted a roundtable discussion attended by multiple cabinet members, on-the-ground journalists who have covered Antifa violence and related experts in order to hear testimonials and formulate a comprehensive plan of action. Among those in attendance was Seamus Bruner, research director at the Government Accountability Institute (GAI), who stated that the administration’s “whole of government” approach is well underway.
“It’s not just Antifa, but there is a whole ecosystem of radical, professional protesting organizations,” Bruner said, noting that there are vast networks of left-wing organizations that organize and raise funds for violent protests, in addition to providing legal services to violent rioters should they face arrest.
Such organizations also provide left-wing extremists with PR services, marketing, and in some cases additional boots on the ground as part of what Bruner refers to as “Riot Inc.”
