Bùi Quang Thận, đại đội trưởng, vào ngày 30-4-1975 là trưởng xe 843 hướng về Dinh Độc Lập, mặc dù bị kẹt tại cổng, nhưng ông Thận đã nhanh tay cầm cờ VC cắm trên nóc dinh. Đây là sự may mắn và vinh dự cho ông. Trớ trêu thay cuộc đời sau này của ông Thận không may mắn như vậy.

Điềm báo không may. Khi chiếc xe tăng 843 của ông Thận tới dinh, thấy cổng đóng. Ông Thận ra lệnh cho pháo thủ 2 Nguyễn Văn Kỷ giục pháo thủ 1 Thái Bá Minh nhắm giữa cổng Dinh Độc Lập khai hỏa. Không hiểu sao đạn lại "xịt" !!!

Hai lần như vậy, ông Thận ra lệnh quay nòng pháo ra sau để cho xe húc đổ cổng Dinh, nhưng húc không đổ, xe chết máy, kẹt tại cổng !!!


Khi xông vào dinh Độc Lập thì ông Thận lao đầu vào cửa kính, ngã bật ra phía sau, có lẽ do ngoài Bắc Việt Nam không có loại kính trong suốt này. Sau đó khi được Đại tá Chiêm của VNCH mời vào dinh, ông Thận cũng không dám leo lên thang máy. Theo ông Thận thì: "Lúc đó tôi thấy thang máy giống như... cái hòm" - Bùi Quang Thận nhớ lại - "Vào đó nó nhốt mình luôn, biết bao giờ mới ra được!". Sau khi nghe ông Đại tá giải thích, ông Thận bắt ông Đại tá vào trước, ông Thận vào sau.


Sau đó ông Thận trở về quê và sống cuộc đời lam lũ.


Ông cùng vợ mở cửa hàng bán gas tại Thụy Xuân, huyện Thái Thụy (Thái Bình). Sáng sáng ông giúp bà mở cửa hàng và dùng xe máy đến tận nhà thay bình gas cho khách.


Nhưng khó làm ăn nên ông Thận đi vay mượn được 40 triệu (2000 USD) đầu tư nuôi tôm, sáng chiều ông ra đầm tôm, tối mịt mới về. Nhưng không may, lứa đầu thả 2 vạn con tôm, vì sơ suất nên tôm chết hết.


Ngày 24 tháng 6 năm 2012, ông qua đời đột ngột tại quê nhà Thái Bình không biết lý do (64 tuổi).

mấy con chó giái này có chết thì đâu cần lý do, lý giải mẹ gì .. chỉ cần mang cái xác thúi của nó ra muơng quăng là xong
