Tin từ Philadelphia/Gastonia, North Carolina —- Vào thứ tư (ngày 20 tháng 10), Cựu Tổng thống Barack Obama đă trở lại vận động tranh cử thay mặt cho ứng cử viên Đảng Dân chủ Joe Biden bằng một cuộc tấn công dồn dập nhằm vào Tổng thống đương nhiệm Donald Trump, khi chỉ c̣n hai tuần nữa là đến Ngày bầu cử.

Phát biểu tại một cuộc vận động ở Philadelphia ông Obama đă đưa ra lời chỉ trích gay gắt nhất về người kế nhiệm, nhắc đến những tuyên bố gây chia rẽ của Tổng thống Trump, thành tích của ông tại Pḥng Bầu dục và thói quen đăng tải các thuyết âm mưu trên Twitter.

Ông Obama, người đă cầm quyền trong hai nhiệm kỳ và vẫn là một trong những nhân vật nổi tiếng nhất trong Đảng Dân chủ, đă chỉ trích Tổng thống Trump về việc giải quyết đại dịch coronavirus, lưu ư rằng vị Tổng thống Cộng ḥa đă trở thành nạn nhân của căn bệnh coronavirus

Sự xuất hiện của ông Obama đă lấp đầy khoảng trống mà ông Biden để lại. Cựu phó tổng thống đă ở nhà riêng ở Delaware kể từ thứ Hai (ngày 19 tháng 10) để họp và chuẩn bị cho cuộc tranh luận vào thứ Năm với Tổng thống Trump tại Nashville, Tennessee.

Cuộc vận động của ông Obama được tổ chức tại băi đậu xe của Citizens Bank Park, một sân vận động bóng chày ở Philadelphia, với người ủng hộ ở trong xe hơi của họ. Với gần 280 chiếc xe trải dài khắp khu vực, đây là sự kiện lớn nhất thuộc loại này mà chiến dịch của ông Biden đă tổ chức trong thời kỳ đại dịch.
