Ngày thứ Bảy, 23-5-2020, ông Olivier Véran, Bộ trưởng Y tế Pháp cho biết ông yêu cầu Hội đồng y khoa tối cao của Pháp họp bàn để cho ông một quyết định trong 48 giờ tới liên quan tới việc cấm sử dụng thuốc hydroxychloroquine trong điều trị bệnh COVID-19.


Thuốc này có chứa chất kư ninh, vốn dùng để chữa trị bệnh sốt rét. Nhưng gần đây được một bác sĩ người Pháp, ông Didier Raoult, cho là rất hiệu nghiệm để chữa bệnh COVID-19. Tuyên bố của ông Raoult bị giới y khoa chỉ trích mạnh mẽ v́ việc nghiên cứu không tuân thủ những nguyên tắc nghiêm ngặt của khoa học.

Yêu cầu của ông Véran được đưa ra sau khi một tạp chí y khoa có uy tín là The Lancet công bố một nghiên cứu trên hàng chục ngàn bệnh nhân COVID-19, cho thấy thuốc sốt rét không có tác dụng ǵ, thậm chí làm người bệnh dễ thiệt mạng v́ tác dụng phụ của nó ảnh hưởng tới nhịp tim. Lời yêu cầu của ông Véran được các nhật báo Pháp đưa tin rộng răi.

Tại Pháp việc sử dụng thuốc sốt rét để điều trị COVID-19, cũng đă được hạn chế trong bệnh viện mà thôi. Tại Mỹ cơ quan thuốc và thực phẩm cũng đă cảnh báo việc sử dụng thuốc sốt rét điều trị COVID-19 có thể đưa đến những tác hại.

Tuy nhiên, hồi tháng Ba, 2020, Tổng thống Trump lại ca ngợi thuốc sốt rét như một thần dược trị được bệnh COVID-19. Gần đây ông c̣n nói ông sử dụng thuốc sốt rét để pḥng nhiễm virus COVID-19.

Ông Olivier Véran nói rơ việc ông yêu cầu Hội đồng y khoa tối cao Pháp họp bàn là v́ có công bố của tạp chí The Lancet nói về sự không hiệu quả trong việc điều trị COVID-19 của thuốc sốt rét, và sự nguy hiểm chết người của nó.

Trước mắt Pháp ngừng sử dụng thuốc hydroxychloroquine điều trị Covid-19

Ngày 27-5, Chính phủ Pháp ban hành nghị định yêu cầu ngừng sử dụng hoạt chất trị sốt rét hydroxychloroquine để điều trị bệnh nhân Covid-19 tại các bệnh viện.
Quyết định này được đưa ra sau khi Hội đồng cấp cao về y tế công cộng có ư kiến đánh giá rằng hydroxychloroquine không có hiệu quả và có những rủi ro cho bệnh nhân. Do vậy, Hội đồng cho rằng chỉ nên sử dụng cho các thử nghiệm lâm sàng.

và tin mới nhất ngày 05/ tháng 6 là
Các nhà khoa học Anh đă ngừng các cuộc thử nghiệm thuốc chống sốt rét hydroxychloroquine trong điều trị cho bệnh nhân mắc bệnh viêm đường hô hấp cấp COVID-19 sau khi các kết quả thử nghiệm cho thấy hiệu quả bằng 0.

Ngày 27-5, Chính phủ Pháp ban hành nghị định yêu cầu ngừng sử dụng hoạt chất trị sốt rét hydroxychloroquine để điều trị bệnh nhân Covid-19 tại các bệnh viện.
Quyết định này được đưa ra sau khi Hội đồng cấp cao về y tế công cộng có ư kiến đánh giá rằng hydroxychloroquine không có hiệu quả và có những rủi ro cho bệnh nhân. Do vậy, Hội đồng cho rằng chỉ nên sử dụng cho các thử nghiệm lâm sàng.

Các nhà khoa học Anh đă ngừng các cuộc thử nghiệm thuốc chống sốt rét hydroxychloroquine trong điều trị cho bệnh nhân mắc bệnh viêm đường hô hấp cấp COVID-19 sau khi các kết quả thử nghiệm cho thấy hiệu quả bằng 0.
