Công an ở Mỹ được gọi là detective. Họ lái xe thường không có ǵ đặt biệt ngoại trừ kiếng xe có màu đen đậm như xe limousine. Xe họ có đèn xanh/đỏ dấu dưới mui xe như xe cảnh sát vậy. Nếu bạn chạy xe quá tốc độ họ sẽ chớp đèn cho bạn biết.
