These politicians, as you know, have tons of interviews with the Press and other organizations and whatnot. And They get paid for doing the interviews. When a politician agrees to do the interview, the contract is constituted, and signed with the payment in advance.
The producer of the show would utilize that contract and carry out to produce the show and sell it to the TV Networks.
So as I learned about this,
some politicians and their managers were so careless on their parts, and that was how they got pranked (and some of them actually had to resign after the show was on TV.
