I think the zoo staff did the right thing by shooting the gorilla; it's sad and might be unfair but they have the right instinct by trying to protect their own kind (people)by thinking the child might be harmed. If they were sure the gorilla wouldn't harm the child, there's no way they would shoot to kill the gorilla. The parents should be the ones to blame for their gross negligence, not zoo staff members

Imagine the lawsuit from the parents against the zoo had the child been harmed in anyway!!
