Lawmaker Marjorie Taylor Greene blames Trump for threats against her after their split

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., accused President Donald Trump of endangering her safety after he withdrew his endorsement and attacked her online over her support for releasing the Epstein files. Greene said she has received death threats and been contacted by private security firms warning about potential risks following Trump’s remarks.

In a series of posts on X, Greene said Trump’s “aggressive rhetoric” has previously led to threats and even convictions of men who were radicalized by similar language. “This time by the President of the United States,” she wrote.

Trump denounced Greene in multiple Truth Social posts, calling her “Wacky,” “a ranting lunatic,” and a “disgrace” to the Republican Party. The split marks a sharp turn for the Georgia congresswoman, once one of Trump’s most vocal allies in Congress.

Greene was one of only four House Republicans who joined Democrats in signing a petition to force a vote on releasing the full Department of Justice files related to Jeffrey Epstein. Trump has dismissed the push as a “Democratic hoax” and suggested he might back a primary challenger against Greene in her district.

Greene said Trump’s comments have “fueled the venomous nature of his radical internet trolls,” adding that she now has “a small understanding” of what Epstein’s victims experienced under public pressure. The White House and the Department of Justice have not commented on the dispute.
