Siêu bão Yagi đã đổ bộ vào đảo Hải Nam của Trung Quốc, với sức gió lên tới 245 km/h (152 dặm/h).

Khoảng 400.000 người đã được sơ tán và các trường học, doanh nghiệp và phương tiện giao thông đã phải đóng cửa.

Cơn bão mạnh thứ hai trong năm 2024 này cũng đã đổ bộ vào Hồng Kông, Ma Cao và miền bắc Việt Nam, nơi các sân bay đã phải đóng cửa.

Cơn bão đã giết chết 16 người ở Philippines.
