The youngest daughter of former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has come out in defense of her father against allegations of sexual assault.

Michaela Kennedy-Cuomo, 24, posted an article on her Twitter feed disparaging the sexual assault allegations that pushed her father out of office. The Substack article, titled "Unprecedented Abuse Of Power: What The Media Still Isn't Telling You About The Cuomo Debacle," claims that the allegations are a tool used by the "progressive" wing of the New York Democratic Party. "Finally. Please read," Kennedy-Cuomo tweeted on Friday.

The allegations are, in author Michael Tracey's words, a "manufactured #MeToo-style PR offensive."

The article alleges that New York State Attorney General Letitia James had a "conflict of interest" in launching an independent investigation into the assault allegations filed against Cuomo due to her interest in running for governor. James announced that she was running for governor of New York in late October.

Kennedy-Cuomo shared the article just days after Cuomo was charged with forcible touching. The court delayed his appearance over the charges of sexual assault after the Albany district attorney accused the sheriff's attempts at arresting Cuomo as "potentially defective."

In a previous interview with the mental health website How Are You Really, Kennedy-Cuomo described herself as a "social justice advocate who focuses on consent education and mental health

Kennedy-Cuomo has been notably vocal on matters of sexual assault.

In 2019, the activist argued against due process in the Brown Political Review, claiming that official sexual assault investigations only help the powerful rather than "decipher the truth or dole the consequences."
