Nhiều cán bộ, sĩ quan "VNCH" đă ra đường giơ tay chào tiễn biệt đại tá Quân lực Việt Nam Cộng Ḥa Nguyễn Văn Đông vào ngày 2 tháng 3 năm 2018 về nơi an nghỉ cuối cùng.







Nguyễn Văn Đông (1932 – 2018) nguyên là một sĩ quan Quân lực Việt Nam Cộng ḥa, cấp bậc Đại tá. Tuy nhiên, nhiều người biết đến ông với tư cách là một nhạc sĩ người Việt nổi tiếng trước năm 1975, với các ca khúc "Chiều mưa biên giới", "Sắc hoa màu nhớ"... Một số bút danh khác của ông là Phượng Linh, Phương Hà, V́ Dân và Đông Phương Tử .

Nguyên quán ông bà, cha mẹ ông ở huyện Bến Cầu, tỉnh Tây Ninh. Thuở nhỏ ông theo học trường Huỳnh Khương Ninh ở Đa Kao. Khi đất nước gặp phải những biến động lớn lao vào năm 1945, gia đ́nh ông bị liệt vào thành phần địa chủ, cường hào nên lâm vào cảnh khuynh gia bại sản, gia đ́nh ly tán. Do đo, tuổi thơ của ông là người con duy nhất trong gia đ́nh cũng bị vùi dập để cuốn theo thời cuộc lúc bấy giờ.

Trước khi theo học trung học ở trường Huỳnh Khương Ninh, nhờ gia đ́nh khá giả nên ông đă được cho học ở nhà với thầy giáo riêng. Cho nên tuổi thơ của ông đến trường th́ ít mà học ở nhà th́ nhiều.

Sau khi trường trung học mà nhạc sĩ Nguyễn Văn Đông theo học là Hùynh Khương Ninh đóng cửa, ông tự ư xin gia nhập trường Thiếu Sinh Quân Việt Nam. Đây là trường vơ bị đầu tiên và lâu đời nhất của Việt Nam. Đó cũng là nơi đào tạo nhiều vị tướng lănh tài ba của Quân Đội VNCH. Nhạc sĩ Nguyễn Văn Đông đă trải qua 5 năm ăn học ở ngôi trường này. Và chính tại đó ông đă được học nhạc và văn hóa với những giáo sư người Pháp có thực tài. Đó là những giảng viên của Viện Âm Nhạc quốc gia Pháp được cử về trường Thiếu Sinh Quân giảng dạy. Chính vậy mà nền văn hóa Tây Phương đă ảnh hưởng đến ông rất nhiều.

Sau khi ra trường Thiếu Sinh Quân, ông gia nhập trường Vơ Bị Sĩ Quan Vũng Tầu và tốt nghiệp năm 1952 với cấp bậc thiếu úy. Kế đó ông nắm chức vụ trung đội trưởng tại trường Vơ Bị Đà Lạt và tốt nghiệp năm 1953. Qua năm 1954, ông về trường Chiến Thuật tại Hà Nội để giữ chức vụ tiểu đoàn trưởng. Trong hai năm 1955 và 1956, ông phục vụ tại Phân Khu Đồng Tháp Mười trong chức vụ trung úy Trưởng Pḥng Hành Quân.

Cũng trong thời gian này, ông kiêm nhiệm thêm chức vụ Trưởng Pḥng 3 của Chiến Khu Đồng Tháp Mười do đại tá Nguyễn Văn Là làm chỉ huy trưởng, tham gia chiến dịch Thoại Ngọc Hầu do thiếu tướng Dương Văn Minh chỉ huy. Ông không sao quên được một kỷ niệm có lần tướng Minh đă đến bắt tay ông để tỏ ḷng ngưỡng mộ tác giả của những ca khúc về đời lính chiến ngay tại mặt trận Chiến Khu Đồng Tháp. Và h́nh ảnh cái bắt tay này đă được in trên trang nhấr của báo Chiến Sĩ Cộng Hoà.

Đến năm 1957, ông theo học khóa Chỉ Huy Và Tham Mưu tại Hawaii. Và cũng trong thời gian này ông cho ra đời nhạc phẩm “Nhớ Một Chiều Xuân”.

Cũng qua cuộc nói chuyện với người viết, nhạc sĩ Nguyễn Văn Đông cho biết ông chọn binh nghiệp là nghề nghiệp chính. Mặc dù ông được học nhạc chính quy ở trường, nhưng âm nhạc chỉ là nghề tay trái.

Từ cấp bậc thiếu úy, nhạc sĩ Nguyễn Văn Đông bước dần lên cấp bậc đại tá. Ông từng được nhận huy chương cao quí nhất của Việt Nam Cộng Ḥa là Bảo Quốc Huân Chưong vào giữa thập niên 60. Sau biến cố tháng 4 năm 75, nhạc sĩ Nguyễn Văn Đông đă kết thúc cuộc đời binh nghiệp của ḿnh trong tăm tối bằng 10 năm tù cải tạo. Đúng như ông đă dự đoán cuộc đời thăng trầm của ḿnh bằng 2 câu kết của nhạc phẩm “Chiều Mưa Biên Giới: “Ḷng trần c̣n tơ vương khanh tướng th́ đường trần c̣n mưa bay gió cuốn c̣n nhiều anh ơi”.

Nhạc sĩ Nguyễn Văn Đông cũng nhấn mạnh thêm là chưa bao giờ ông phục vụ ở Cục Chiến Tranh Chính Trị như nhiều người lầm tưởng. Ông chỉ đích thực là một người lính tác chiến, rồi sau đó trở thành sĩ quan tham mưu cao cấp của Bộ Tổng Tham Mưu Quân Đội Việt Nam Cộng Ḥa. Sau năm 75, đầu tiên nhạc sĩ Nguyễn Văn Đông bị đưa đi tù cải tao tại trại Suối Máu. Nhưng không lâu sau, ông bị chuyển về nhà tù Chí Ḥa cho đến khi được trả tự do vào năm 1985. Nhạc sĩ Nguyễn Văn Đông cho biết ông đă rất đau buồn v́ không được nh́n thấy mặt thân phụ lần cuối trong thời gian ông ở tù cải tạo.

Nh́n h́nh ảnh này đủ thấy Cố Đại Tá kiêm nhạc sỹ Nguyễn Văn Đóng là người như thế nào...và một cái văn hoá của chế độ VNCH khi người bạn hữu, người anh em khi ra đi...Tuy là một chế độ đă sụp đỗ hơn 40 năm nhưng khi bạn hữu, chiến hữu, anh em ra đi họ vẫn tiễn đưa bằng 1 nghi thức cũa một quân nhân...Một nền dân chủ có trận tự và kính trọng người trên khi ra đi...Sau 40 năm vẫn thấy h́nh ảnh chào cấp trên hay là cùng là quân nhân...h́nh ảnh đẹp đáng phải kính phục...RIP cố Đại Tá nhạc sỹ Nguyễn Văn Đông...
