VBF-Theo nghiên cứu mới đây th́ người mang họ Việt nói riêng và mang họ châu Á nói chung rất ít khi được phỏng vấn việc làm. Điều này cũng làm cho người gốc Á mất tự tin trước người gốc Âu hay nhiều nước khác. Nếu người gốc Á đều có những phẩm chất tốt ngang bằng người gốc Âu chẳng hạn th́ người gốc Á vẫn dễ không được phỏng vấn như người gốc Âu kia.

Một nghiên cứu mới từ các nhà nghiên cứu tại Đại Học Ryerson University và University of Toronto cho thấy rằng những người ghi tên xin việc làm với những tên gốc Á Châu – tên của người Ấn Độ, Pakistan, hay Trung Quốc – th́ 28% ít có cơ hội được gọi đi phỏng vấn so với những người ghi danh với tên Anglo, ngay cả khi tất cả các phẩm chất tốt đều ngang bằng nhau.

Các nhà nghiên cứu sử dụng các dự liệu từ một nghiên cứu trước đó được thực hiện vào năm 2011 ở nơi mà họ gửi đi 12,910 hồ sơ xin việc cho 3,225 việc làm đang mở. Nghiên cứu trước cũng cho thấy rằng những người nạp đơn xin việc với tên gốc Anglo và họ gốc Á Châu th́ cũng không khá hơn những người nạp đơn xin việc làm với tên và họ Á Châu.

“Một số người vẫn c̣n tin rằng các nhóm thiểu số có lợi thế,” theo một trong các tác giả nghiên cứu là Jeffrey Reitz là nhà xă hội học tại Đại Học University of Toronto cho biết. “Những nghiên cứu này là quan trọng để thách thức điều đó và cho thấy rằng không chỉ loại kỳ thị này đang xảy ra, mà nó c̣n có hệ thống.”

Reitz, người hoàn tất bằng cử nhân và hậu đại học tại Hoa Kỳ và đă thực hiện nhiều nghiên cứu so sánh các mối quan hệ chủng tộc tại 2 quốc gia Bắc Mỹ, nói rằng loại kỳ thị này đang thịnh hành tại Hoa Kỳ.

Bản nghiên cứu mất 2 năm được đăng trong Tạp Chí Administrative Science Quarterly Journal cho thấy rằng những người đi xin việc làm gốc Á Châu tại Hoa Kỳ có cơ hội gấp hai lần nhận được điện thoại gọi lại nếu họ thay đổi tên họ và loại bỏ vinh dự dựa trên màu da và các tổ chức. Những người Mỹ gốc Phi Châu cũng có cùng cảnh ngộ như thế.

cái này nó cũng có đúng 1 phần nào thôi , theo tôi th́ cái tên gọi rất làm cho họ bỏ qua hồ sơ v́ khó đọc , cháu tôi tên và họ hoàn toàn là việt nam , mạc dù có quốc tịch , tên chẳng hay tí nào nhưng đối với người phỏng vấn rất dễ gọi ( Tư ) cháu tôi phỏng vấn 1 lần , sau 4 ngày là đi làm luôn cho đến hôm nay đă 6 năm . cho nên khi chọn tên nước ngoài th́ cần phải t́m tên dễ gọi , có thế thôi .

Người Việt cũng có rất nhiều người giỏi về kỹ thuật, nghề chuyên môn, thông minh, siêng năng và rất trung với chủ trong mọi nghề nghiệp và mọi lảnh vực!

Và có một em tự sướng là có 2 bằng từ Caltech và Stanford nhưng trên du tút th́ phát âm du tút, phây bút, lai trym (livestream), không chừng 2 đại học này có chi nhánh ở Trường Sơn hahhaha
