Thế giới đang rối ren v́ Anh ly dị EU. Mỹ cũng ảnh hưởng không nhỏ. TRong lúc nước sôi lửa bỏng, bang California lại rục rịch đưa đơn ly hôn với Mỹ.


Dân California đang muốn độc lập khỏi Mỹ, như Anh rời khỏi EU.

Tới năm 2020, Louis Marinelli hy vọng có thể trở thành Alex Salmond của bang California, Mỹ. Salmond là người dẫn đầu phong trào đ̣i tự do cho Scotland trong cuộc trưng cầu ư dân năm 2014. Marinelli hiện đang nỗ lực để tách bang California khỏi Mỹ.

Khát vọng của Marinelli càng có thêm cơ sở khi ngày 23.6 vừa qua, Anh đă bỏ phiếu chọn rời EU. Marinelli hiện là chủ tịch của phong trào mang tên “Yes California”, lấy cảm hứng từ cuộc vận động Brexit của nước Anh và phong trào muốn tách Scotland ra khỏi mẫu quốc.

“Đây là lần đầu tiên một phong trào li khai ở châu Âu thành công và tôi nghĩ rằng triển vọng với California là rất lớn”, Marinelli nói. “Liệu có ổn không khi nói rằng người dân ở quốc gia tự do nhất thế giới như Mỹ không có quyền tự quyết?”

Marinelli cho rằng California và London của Anh rất giống nhau v́ ở quá xa thủ đô hành chính. Với Anh, trụ sở của EU đặt ở Brussels trong khi California phải di chuyển quăng đường rất dài mới tới được Washington. Ông cho rằng California bị kiểm soát quá chặt về thương mại và không được hưởng giá trị đúng với từng đồng thuế bỏ ra cho chính phủ.

Số liệu năm 2014 cho thấy California chỉ nhận về 94% đầu tư của chính phủ so với số thuế nộp ngân sách. Quan điểm này trùng với lập luận mỗi tuần Anh phải nộp 350 triệu bảng cho EU trong khi có thể dùng số tiền trên để chi tiêu trong nước.

Trong quan điểm của Marinelli, bang California sẽ vẫn thuộc về nước Mỹ nhưng cần có một thủ đô và hệ thống tiểu bang riêng. Thủ phủ sẽ là thành phố Sacramento và hiến pháp sẽ tuân theo Điều lệ Liên bang thay v́ Hiến pháp chung toàn quốc. Marinelli muốn California có nhiều quyền tự quyết hơn, nhất là với thung lũng công nghệ Sillicon.

Nếu California được tách rời khỏi Mỹ, Marinelli nói rằng ông sẽ thương thuyết để những bang c̣n lại đồng ư cho người và hàng hóa qua lại California. Ngoài ra, California cũng sẽ phải đàm phán với bang New Mexico láng giềng.

Gần đây, phong trào “Yes California” mới chỉ có 6.700 lượt yêu thích trên Facebook và 650 người theo dơi trên Twitter. Dù vậy, Marinelli tin rằng sự ủng hộ là rất lớn. Trong một khảo sát không chính thức trên Twitter hồi tháng 2, 41% trong tổng số 9.000 người được hỏi đồng ư li khai California khỏi Mỹ.

Calexit or Caleavefornia? Brexit lifts Golden State independence campaign
Pro-independence Texans weren’t the only ones energized by the vote by Brexit vote.

The California secession movement has been riding a wave of interest since Thursday’s vote by the United Kingdom to leave the European Union. The campaign has already gained a Brexit-inspired nickname: Calexit

“We have a lot of people sending us messages and a lot of people want to find our online digital version of our independence referendum,” said Louis Marinelli, who heads the Yes California Independence Campaign. “We have a lot of people who have joined our Facebook page, a lot of people who are talking about this issue on Twitter. The #Calexit hashtag for example has begun organically. There’s another one called #Caleavefornia.”

Yes California, which formed in August after the shuttering of Sovereign California, has been gathering support for an initiative aimed at November 2020 that would begin the process of severing California from the union.

What makes the Brexit vote so important is that it shows secession isn’t just a relic of the 19th century, said Mr. Marinelli.

“This is an example of an independence movement occurring in the Western world, a modern-day, 21st century [case] of a political entity seceding from a political union,” he said. “And so now Californians who hear the word ‘secession,’ they don’t have to think of the Civil War any more. Now they have a modern day example of how it can happen peacefully and legally and constitutionally, and that’s the path and process we intend to mimic here in California.”

He disputes the contention that secession is illegal under the U.S. Constitution, citing the 1869 Supreme Court case Texas v. White, which held that states cannot break away from the union unilaterally.

“The story out there is that states can’t secede, but they can. The problem is they can’t secede unilaterally,” said Mr. Marinelli. “You can’t just declare yourself independent. But if you get the consent of the other states, and there’s a way to do that through the amendment process, then you can do that legally and peacefully.”

The Brexit vote inspired a surge of interest in state independence movements, as well as a rash of nicknames. The Texas Nationalist Movement, the most prominent of the state efforts, has been dubbed Texit, while New Hampshire saw the creation on Twitter of the hashtag #NHexit.

Naturally, the push for Northern Mexico to secede is now #Mexit, while the Quebec independence movement in Canada has been dubbed #Quebexit.

California Governor Jerry Brown may have inadvertently inspired supporters of Calexit by joking in March that if presumptive Republican presidential nominee is elected in November, “we’d have to build a wall around California to defend ourselves from the rest of this country.”

“There’s always an element of truth when people make a joke. And there are certainly a lot of jokes coming from the governor’s office,” said Mr. Marinelli. “So maybe he partially supports this. Who knows? We’ll see what happens.”

Không phải là không có v́ Mỹ là nước tự do, ai cũng có thể đưa ra ư kiến riêng mà. (yescalifornia.org, texas ....) Những chuyện này có từ lâu rồi không phải sau khi Brexit hay bất măn v́ king Obama ..... Nhưng đây chỉ là những phần rất nhỏ. Nước Mỹ không giống EU, tuy có nhiều dân tộc khác nhau nhưng họ cùng nói một ngôn ngữ. Luật pháp tuy không hoàn hảo nhưng đủ tốt để bảo vệ quyền tự do, dân chủ, nhân quyền .....

vụ California or Texas muốn tách ra nhập vô đă có từ trước, trước khi nước Anh muốn tách rời EU.
Nếu Califorinia và Texas tách ra th́ lúc đó đám 5B này sẽ đánh nhau bể bô v́ giành nhau kê bô...

This is what I was trying to say:

First, England is a country. It was a country before it joined the E.U.. ----> Chance to exit the E.U. = Inevitable

Second, either Texas or California is NOT a country. They were NOT joined the U.S. They were parts of the U.S. in almost 200 years. -------> Chance to break away from the U.S. = almost impossible (because the majority of people don't want it, nor does the US government).

Final, the other day I just signed a petition for the Japanese Marching Band that needs 10,000 signatures to get the funding from the city.

So telling me more than 6,000 Californian like "Yes California" or "Texas Exit" or something, IS LAUGHABLE.

IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN FOR A LONG SHOT !!!
