Đây là phản ứng của Tổng thống Mỹ Donald Trump khi nói về thái độ cứng rắn của ông đối với Nga.

Tuyên bố này được đưa ra tại cuộc họp nội các 20/7 tại Nhà Trắng. TT Mỹ khẳng định: “Chúng tôi đă làm rất tốt, có lẽ hơn bất cứ ai từng thực hiện với Nga. Hăy nh́n những ǵ chúng tôi đă làm được. Nh́n vào các lệnh trừng phạt. Và tôi cho rằng Tổng thống Putin biết rơ điều này hơn bất cứ ai. Chắc chắn ông ấy hiểu rơ hơn truyền thông”.



Hăng thông tấn AFP (Pháp) dẫn lời Tổng thống Trump bổ sung: “Ông Putin hiểu và không vui vẻ v́ điều này. Ông ấy chắc chắn sẽ không vui rồi bởi chưa có Tổng thống Mỹ nào cứng rắn với Nga bằng tôi”.

Khi nhận được câu hỏi liệu Nga vẫn c̣n nhắm đến Mỹ, Tổng thống Trump đă khẳng định là “không”.

Trong cuộc họp báo ngày 16/7, Tổng thống Trump khi đề cập đến cáo buộc Nga can thiệp bầu cử đă nêu rơ: “Tổng thống Putin khẳng định đó không phải là Nga. Tôi sẽ nói thế này: Tôi không thấy bất cứ lư do nào Nga sẽ làm điều đó”. Phát biểu này của Tổng thống đă khiến truyền thông Mỹ và nhiều nghị sĩ phản đối.

Đến ngày 17/7, Tổng thống Trump đă “chữa cháy” khi khẳng định đáng ra ông định nói là “Tôi không thấy lư do nào tại sao đó không thể là Nga”.
