Old  Default Việt Nam hồ hởi nhận tàu tuần tra 3000 tấn của Mỹ
Mỹ sẽ chuyển tàu tuần tra USCGC Morgenthau 3000 tấn cho Việt Nam trong thời gian tới. Được biết con tàu có thể hoạt động liên tục hơn 1 tháng trên biển. Con tàu này đă được đưa vào sử dụng từ năm 1969, sắp tới sẽ thuộc quyền sở hữu của Việt Nam.

Thông tin trên được thông báo trên trang chủ của Cơ quan hợp tác an ninh quốc pḥng Mỹ (DSCA) hôm 13/4/2017. Việt Nam đă đề nghị mua 3 tàu tuần tra của Mỹ, nhưng hiện chỉ một đề nghị được chấp thuận vào tháng 10/2016.

Tàu USCGC Morgenthau được biên chế vào ngày 10/3/1969 và rút khỏi biên chế của Lực lượng bảo vệ bờ biển Mỹ sau gần 50 năm. Con tàu thuộc lớp Hamilton, có lượng giăn nước 3.250 tấn, chiều dài 115m, rộng 13m.

Con tàu được trang bị 2 động cơ diesel và 2 động cơ tuabin khí cho phép con tàu có thể đạt tốc độ tối ta 53,7km/h và có thể hoạt động liên tục 45 ngày trên biển.

3 tàu tuần tra lớp Hamilton đầu tiên của Mỹ ngừng biên chế đă được chuyển giao cho Hải quân Philippines. Trong khi đó, USCGC Morgenthau sẽ được chuyển giao cho Việt Nam theo Đạo luật Hỗ trợ quốc tế, đạo luật cho phép chuyển giao các trang thiết bị quốc pḥng dư thừa cho chính phủ nước ngoài.
