Được biết đây là 1 cô gái rất tài năng và có thành tích học tập tốt tại HN.Giữa những h́nh ảnh đầu tiên khi Tổng thống Obama khi đặt chân tới Việt Nam ngập tràn các phương tiện báo chí truyền thông, h́nh ảnh một cô gái trẻ mặc áo dài vàng tươi cười rạng rỡ tặng hoa vị Tổng thống Mỹ đang gây chú ư. Danh tính của cô gái trẻ là người đầu tiên được gặp Tổng thống Obama đang được cư dân mạng “truy lùng ráo riết”.Và không bất ngờ lắm, đó là một cô gái Việt xinh xắn, đa tài ở thế hệ 9X. Trần Mỹ Linh sinh năm 1995 tại Hà Nội, hiện là sinh viên Khoa Ngôn ngữ, trường Đại học Khoa học xă hội và nhân văn (ĐHQG Hà Nội). Trong cộng đồng sinh viên Hà thành, Mỹ Linh là gương mặt nổi bật khi vừa học giỏi, xinh xắn, sở hữu nhiều tài lẻ lại năng động trong các hoạt động Đoàn – Hội.

Năm 2015 vừa qua, Mỹ Linh đă được tuyên dương là Bí thư Chi Đoàn có nhiều thành tích trong công tác đoàn và phong trào thanh niên. Nữ sinh 9X duyên dáng đa tài có năng khiếu ca hát, chơi đàn, múa. Cô gái có nụ cười dễ mến, thành tích học tập và hoạt động nổi bật này từng lọt Top 5 cuộc thi Nữ sinh thanh lịch ĐHQG Hà Nội (Miss VNU) và được giải “Đại sứ tài năng” cuộc thi này. Cô cũng từng đạt giải Khuyến khích trong cuộc thi Olympic tiếng Anh không chuyên.

Là cô gái Việt được tặng hoa chào đón Tổng thống Obama ở sân bay, Mỹ Linh xúc động bày tỏ: “Em vô cùng vinh dự và tự hào khi được là người tặng hoa chào mừng tới Tổng thống Mỹ Barack Obama”.

“Khi Tổng thống Obama bước từ máy bay xuống, ông đă mỉm cười rất tươi và vẫy tay với mọi người đứng dưới sân bay. Lúc em tặng hoa, Tổng thống đă hỏi tên và khen rằng bó hoa rất đẹp. Đó là cảm giác em sẽ không thể quên. Thật vinh dự và tự hào khi có mặt tại khoảnh khắc này”, Mỹ Linh tâm sự.

Mỹ Linh cho biết thêm, cô đă kịp gửi lời chào mừng và cảm ơn Tổng thống Obama v́ chuyến thăm tới Việt Nam và nhận được lời chào thân thiện cùng cái bắt tay ấm áp, nụ cười chân thành từ ông.

Trên trang cá nhân, Mỹ Linh cũng không giấu nổi cảm xúc khi lần đầu được diện kiến người đàn ông quyền lực thế giới. Cô viết: “Tớ nói thật là tay Barack Obama ấm lắm! Nghe câu hỏi tên với cảm ơn thôi mà cũng ngọt ngào”. Ḍng tâm trạng của nữ sinh nhanh chóng gây chú ư cộng đồng mạng và khiến nhiều người “ghen tị”.

Được biết, cách đây vài ngày, Mỹ Linh cũng vinh dự khi đại diện cho các bạn trẻ Việt trong đoàn tiễn Thủ tướng Lào về nước.
