Walmart đă phải chịu chi một khoản 65 triệu USD cho các nhân viên California. Lư do đơn giản v́ các nhân viên tính tiền định kiện hăng này bởi lư do Walmart không chịu cho họ ngồi khi làm việc.




Walmart đă bắt các nhân viên tính tiền phải đứng khi bán hàng. Walmart cho rằng khi đứng sẽ giúp công việc hiệu quả hơn, khi tính tiền, đọc mă vạch sản phẩm, gói hàng.





Walmart đă phải chi gấp 65 triệu USD để tránh vụ kiện cáo mà khả năng lớn phần thắng thuộc về nhân viên của hăng này. Nếu bị thua Walmart chắc chắn phải chi đậm hơn rất nhiều so với 65 triệu USD.

bro nói đúng . hồi xưa tui có làm cashier nên biết rỏ . khi đi interview nguời ta cũng hỏi ḿnh có thể đứng làm việc đuợc không ? nếu đuợc th́ làm .. chổ nào cũng vậy không chỉ walmart đâu ..

Đúng vậy , hồi xưa mới qua Mỹ tui cũng làm cashier cho Walgreen, họ hỏi ḿnh có vác nặng được 50 lbs không nữa, nói chung là khi interview th́ họ hỏi hết rồi, làm hay không th́ tùy ḿnh thôi, kiểu này như Walmart th́ khó sue đựơc lắm, báo này họ cũng viết không đúng thôi, chứ mấy Corp như Walmart th́ luạt sự xịn nó đầy

Walmart người ta xếp hàng dài dài, nếu mà ngồi th́ làm sao mà làm cho xuể và khách hàng phải chờ bao lâu mới ra khỏi tiệm được. Vừa tính tiền, vừa phải vói tới để kéo mấy món hàng từ conveyor đến gần, rồi lại phải xếp hàng vào bọc cho khách hàng nữa. Ngồi, đúng là một chuyện bất tiện và tất nhiên khách hàng không thích chờ, cũng như người chủ không muốn mất khách hàng. Đ̣i hỏi này thật sự là hơi quá.....đáng, trừ khi những tiệm quán nhỏ.

Walmart could soon pay $65 million in a 9-year-old class action lawsuit over its lack of seating for cashiers.

Nisha Brown brought the suit in 2009, according to the Los Angeles Times, and 100,000 current and former California Walmart cashiers are eligible to receive part of the payout.

The onetime Walmart employees said the retailer violated a 2001 California wage order that determined that employees must be given “suitable seats when the nature of the work reasonably permits.”

Walmart, however, has maintained that the nature of the work as a cashier does not permit cashiers to sit down. Among its reasons, per the LA Times: cashiers need to move around to greet customers and look inside carts; cashiers are less efficient when they sit down; customers prefer standing cashiers; and providing seating to cashiers would lead to a loss of revenue.

The two sides in the case filed a proposed settlement this week, and a judge still has to approve the $65 million settlement amount.

As part of the settlement, Walmart would begin a “pilot program” providing stools to cashiers who request them and would agree not to retaliate against workers who choose to sit down.

“Both sides are pleased to have reached a proposed resolution and look forward to the court granting preliminary approval to the settlement,” Walmart spokesman Randy Hargrove told the LA Times.

The lawsuit is similar to one CVS lost over the same issue in 2016.
